help setup a home theater ...?
Heres my video connections: go to my HDTV via HDMI DVR box XBOX 360 w / DVD-HD. Go to my TV via component cables is a Wii. My receiver has a coaxial audio obsolete IR one, and a composite video input. I coax input in the HD DVR. My iPod docking station is connected via composite. I already had my old DVD player conencted infrared. Worked perfect for my needs. I have a problem to find a way to connect the XBOX as I digital surround sound. The Xbox 360 does not have digital audio source (other than HDMI .. correct me if I'm wrong). My TV is nevertheless one of the digital infrared. I connected the receiver expected to get the Xbox to get through this and got nothing. If this does not work? Any other suggestions for upgrade to pass through HDMI receiver? No time of year to buy me expensive gifts ... in fact, the time of year but have done more!
On "go" do you mean optical? If so, the Xbox has an HDMI input Optical / RCA adapter that allows the audio portion of dispersion More HDMI signal and connects to an optical input (IR?) port. Similar adapters can be purchased elsewhere, but XBox wire is not authentic reasonable prices. But note that most TVs will not support surround sound directly ... better to connect the Xbox to the receiver not the TV. If necessary, you can buy an optical switch to allow more than one input device of the single input on your receiver (see the second link for a model) or buy a switch HDMI if you want to be more "future proof" (3rd link)
