The Center for Responsible Nanotechnology (CRN) is a research nonprofit advocacy and focus on major social and environmental implications of advanced nanotechnology. We are a modern, virtual network - without physical facilities "- a collection of over 100 volunteers, over 1,000 faithful involved and a small team of primary coordinators. We are also independently, without direct affiliation to any government, business or academic organization. CRN launched in December 2002 after email conversation Trede nanotechnology mail between Mike and Chris Phoenix. Mike, who had a background in business administration Technology, realized that molecular manufacturing come sooner than most expected, and the consequences could be very bad if the world was prepared, Chris, who had studied the technology for more than a decade, realized it was time to act on their understanding of the situation. The conversation quickly gained energy, and Mike and Chris knew almost immediately should collaborate on something. We have grown from these humble beginnings into an organization with a solid reputation and significant influence. CRN engages individuals and groups to understand better the implications of molecular manufacturing and focus on the real risks and benefits of technology. Our goal is to create and application wise, comprehensive, balanced and plans for use in the world responsible for this processing technology.
